Who We Are

Our mission comes from Colossians 1:28, where we are called to

invest into the Christ-like maturity of others.

"We Exist to Present Everyone Complete in Christ"

Our Vision

We carry out our mission by:

PROCLAIMING JESUS

Whether it is during our worship service, a Bible study or at one of our events, we present the person of Jesus as Christ the Lord (Acts 5:42)

PURSUING EVERYONE

We present God's Word to everyone and strive to shine His light in our community (Matthew 5:16)

PRACTICING DISCIPLESHIP

We invest into the Christ-like maturity of others by

teaching people to deny themselves, follow after Christ and commit their lives to Him. (Luke 9:23-24)

Our History
2007 - Today

In 2007, the church called Pastor Lance Wallace to be their Lead Pastor.

In 2021, the church members voted to change the name of First Baptist Church of Windsor to Windsor Christian Church.

Today, Windsor Christian Church and Academy minister to over 400 families every week! We praise God for the faithfulness and vision of those who came before and look forward to what He has in store for the church, the school and the community in the years ahead!

1980 - 2005

In July, 1980, Pastor Jim Velez was hired as lead pastor. He, along with the deacons, wanted a school for the church families. The school opened in 1981 as First Baptist Church and School. Pastor Velez was the administrator and his wife, Rachel, was the principal and kindergarten teacher. The first school year included kindergarten, first and second grade.

The school later changed its name to Windsor Christian Academy and continued to grow. In 2005, the current education building was built.

The group ministered to kids every Sunday in a little strip mall building that was located on the corner of Old Redwood Hwy. and Starr Rd (currently Estrella’s Market). With the help of Fellowship of Baptist for Home Missions (FBHM) and their sponsoring church, First Baptist of Petaluma, they were able to purchase a couple of acres on Starr Road for a church building.

During this time, property adjacent to the church was purchased on two different occasions, with the vision of future expansion. On Mother's Day, 1980, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for what is currently the auditorium.
